The event is sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration and organized locally by Heartland Human Care Services.Register here Apply for a sub-grant Download the invitation Register for pre-event webinar
The convening is designed to increase the impact of mission-driven organizations serving or seeking to serve Returning Citizens, in particular entrepreneurs and those facing credit challenges. We hope to facilitate dialogue among community stakeholders about the existing and/or potential role of credit building in reentry and recidivism-prevention efforts.
Learn about collaborative models with proven success and share best practices, resources and ideas that meet the needs of local programs and beyond!
The convening is open to all (local and national) and is free to attend.
The target audience includes those engaged in the criminal justice space, particularly those who focus on the aspect of economic justice. Attendees may include non-profit and community-based organizations, municipal leaders, funders and/or financial institutions, attorneys, and other stakeholders (including those with lived experience) supporting the pre- and post-release efforts of those who are justice exposed. While some content may be Chicago focused, we hope that the takeaways will expand beyond.
