Youth in Foster Care often transition out of care without a working knowledge of credit and experience a higher rate of errors on their credit report. The Federal Credit Check mandate, a federal law, mitigates this by requiring child welfare agencies (CWAs) to provide youth in foster care with credit reports and address any identified credit inaccuracies starting at the age of 14. With support from Experian, CBA created a website to illuminate this issue, how to comply with the law, and how to resolve errors on a report. Join CBA as we unveil our new Foster Credit Check website, and give more context to the situation at hand at our public webinar on May 18th.
